Altar Guild...
Prepares for each service of worship by
- providing paraments for the chancel according to the
Christian year
- maintaining candles
- caring for the flowers
- cleaning the brass
- training the acolytes
- serving as communion stewards
- overseeing weddings
Purpose/Mission
- to provide a meaningful center of worship for all services
- to provide an appropriately appointed chancel for all occassions
A bit of History about the Centenary Altar Guild
- Pastor A. Donald Collins and Ruth Sipe planned together to establish
an Altar Guild for Centenary Church. A constitution was written and on
January 20, 1976 the Centenary Altar Guild was formed.
- The desired number of members was to be twelve, representing the
twelve disciples. The charter members were: June Bennett,
Kathllen Card, Mary Jayne Pratt, Dora Sargent, Ruth Sipe,
Dorothy Walpole and Polly Westbrook.
- Chairperson and years of commitment for the Altar Guild have been:

- Lois Minsker 1984-1990
- Kathryn Dunlap 1990-1996
- Lee Sheffler 1996-2000
- Lois Minsker 2000-2002 Co-chair

Family of those members who have passed were invited to receive a
rose in appreciation of the service and dedication of their loved ones.
