Centenary's history stems from the Methodist denomination:
which was founded by John Wesley. The Book of Discipline is the Methodist
guide---and contains the guidelines for how we are governed. It "is the most
current statement of how we as United Methodists agree to live our lives
together--- and reflects our understanding of the Church and of what is
expected of its laity and clergy as they seek to be effective witnesses
in the world as a part of the whole body of Christ. It also sets forth the
theological grounding of The United Methodist in biblical faith..." Within
this Book of Discipline is our Social Principals. Centenary is more Biblically
based than "social".
